Kathleen Walsh, SNJM

During her 75 years as a Sister of the Holy Names, Sister Kathleen (Ignatius of Mary) was a grade and high school teacher, a counselor and registrar at St. Mary’s Academy, Portland, and a secretary in the Oregon Provincial Administration. She volunteered at Women’s Intercommunity AIDS Resource (WIAR), Jobs with Justice and the Metropolitan Alliance for the Common Good (MACG). After completing a program in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), she was a longtime hospice chaplain at Providence St. Vincent Hospital, Portland. In retirement she moved to Northeast Portland, where she regularly exercises at the NE Community Center pool with her many friends..
