Departed this life November 23, 2013 at Devonshire Senior Residence in Windsor, Ontario. Sister Dorothy had celebrated 92 years of life and 72 years of her religious profession. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Windsor. Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.

Sister Eleanor Holkenbrink, SNJM

Eleanor Holkenbrink was born March 24, 1917, in Portland, Oregon, to Henry F. and Nell Rickard Holkenbrink. She was joined the next year by her brother Frank. Eleanor attended St. Stephen and St. Phillip Neri Schools in Portland, but finished Elementary School at Cathedral in Seattle after the family had relocated. She attended St. Mary's High School but graduated from Immaculate. Although Eleanor had earned a scholarship to Marylhurst College, she chose to begin her religious life with the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in 1934. She subsequently earned a B.A. in Education from Holy Names College, Spokane, and a M.Ed. from Seattle University.

Departed this life on October 4, 2013 at Marie-Rose Center, Mary's Woods, in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Sister Mary Patricia had celebrated 72 years of life and 50 years of religious profession. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on October 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of the Holy Names, Lake Oswego. Burial will take place following the funeral at Holy Names Cemetery, Marylhurst, Oregon.
Sister Virginia Maria Shelton, SNJM

Virginia Maria was born June 5, 1911, in Lewiston, Idaho, the first-born child of Frederick and Margaret Fewer Shelton. She was later joined by her brothers Fred and Leroy. Her family moved to Spokane when she was two years old, so she attended Parkwater Elementary School and Lourdes Academy, graduating from West Valley High School in 1929. After graduation, Virginia worked in a restaurant near the air field before beginning college at Washington State College in Pullman. She joined the Sisters of the Holy Names in 1933, and earned her B.M. as music educator from Marylhurst College.
