2008 Provincial Chapter
Barbara initiated discussion regarding the Action Plan requested by the Chapter Planning Committee by March 1. Group indicated that we may not have a plan within that time frame since we are continuing to develop our focus and establish a firmer foundation for moving our study forward while implementing this Chapter Act within our particular ministry/regional settings.
Reading the reports from the other Dialogue groups posted on US/Ont website for December meeting would help us identify common points and see what plans might be emerging from the group(s). (11/11/07 - Request sent to other facilitators to inform them of this action: Rosemary Everett 2, Cecilia Ranger 3 and Barbara Spears 4)

Jewish/Christian/Muslim Seder In response to Mary's current involvement with preparations for this inter-religious service Barbara encouraged us to be clear about the integrity of the Seder in contrast to some parish/faith groups which have adapted the Seder and blended aspects of it with Holy Thursday liturgy.

New Muslim letter: "A Common Word between Us and You"
Last year after Benedict's Regensburg Address, 38 Muslims scholars wote an open letter in response.
This year (Oct. 13, 2007) 138 Muslims scholars wrote another open letter addressed to Benedict XVI and many other Christian leaders. The letter is noteworthy because is was signed by Muslim leaders of different sects, quotes both from the Qur'an and the Bible, and focuses on the love of God and the love of neighbor as foundational principles of both Islam and Christianity.

The letter and further information can be found at www.acommonword.com
Mollie asked that we be alert to events being organized around this Muslim invitation to dialogue.

Next call: Dec 3, 2007 5:30 pm PST/8:30 EST
