Sisters honored by Knights of Columbus

Barbara Spears, SNJM, Molia Sieh, SNJM and Eileen Fitzgerald, SNJM  were among Sisters from several congregations who attended a Sisters' Appreciation Night on April 26 hosted by the Knights of Columbus of the Father Rosensteel Council in Silver Spring, MD. The event was an expression of gratitude for the Sisters of the Archdiocese of Washington (DC). See below for a photo. Knights -_3_sisters
 
Tampa Jubilarians

Ann Regan, SNJM wrote a post for the Academy of the Holy Names, Tampa's blog on the recent Jubilee celebration in Tampa. "Jubilee has been a time of restoration, a time for remission, forgiveness and joy. My life has been spent working in the field of education-education in the faith. Susan M. Maloney, SNJM honored with Mary Award

SusanMaloneySusan M. Maloney, SNJM will be honored with the Mary Award from the Immaculate Heart Community on May 6. Susan was selected because of her work to abolish human trafficking, her ministry to women and for the care she gave to the founding president of the community, Anita M. Caspary, IHM. The Mary Award is given to people who exemplify the spirit and faith of Mary and her discipleship. The luncheon ceremony will be held at Almansor Court in Alhambra, CA.

Yakima-area Jubilarians in the Yakima Herald-Republic

Yakima-area Jubilarians were profiled in the Yakima Herald-Republic. "I'm extremely grateful that I've been a Sister of the Holy Names for 50 years, which enabled me to do wonderful things in service to others," said Mary Rita Rohde, SNJM. Ramona Convent Secondary School project

Junior High students at Ramona Convent Secondary School recently completed a project that was connected to a course reflection on following the mission of Jesus and the works of mercy, both corporal and spiritual. They added new plants to the Mary Grotto on campus. To celebrate their project, they gathered to pray the rosary in honor of the role models in their lives many of whom are their mothers. See below for a photo.
