Mission Centres
Note to our friends and donors: When the Sisters of the Holy Names first ventured from Quebec in 1859, it was to minister in Oregon, which had just become a state. Their mission was to teach the children of French-speaking Voyageurs. Today, education remains one of their main missions. Some 250 Sisters and Associates are affiliated with the four Mission Centres in Oregon, mostly centered in metro Portland and Eugene. The links on the left side of this page give an idea of the range of ministries in this part of the Northwest.
