Mission Centres Holy Names Sisters first stopped in California during a voyage from Quebec to the upper end of the West Coast in 1859. Soon after, they returned to California to stay. Today, some 300 Sisters and Associates minister in the state, based in five Mission Centres concentrated in the Bay Area and Southern California.
You'll find SNJMs and Associates serving in a broad range of ministries (links are on the left side of this page): Children at the summer day camp at St. Michael's Parish, Los Angeles. SNJMs and volunteers do much of the work!
