 Sister Marion Patrick Connors, SNJM

Sister Lillian Connors

January 25, 1934 – April 14, 2017

With the grace of God,
I hope to be a faithful daughter
of Mother Marie Rose
during my life.
~Sister Marion Patrick

On April 14, 2017, Sister Marion Patrick (Lillian Connors) was called forth into the loving hands of our God. She was 83 years old and celebrated 64 years of profession as a Sister of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.

Sister Marion Patrick had a keen mind for numbers. So here is her ministry by the numbers. She spent 9 years ministering in elementary education at Saint Cecilia (San Francisco), Our Lady of Lourdes (Oakland), Sacred Heart (Oakland), Saint Ignatius (Sacramento), Saint Gregory (Los Angeles) and Holy Spirit (Fremont). She worked 18 years in the Provincial Treasurer’s Office; 10 years in the Finance office at Ramona Convent Secondary School (Alhambra) including the time of rebuilding after the 1987 earthquake in Southern California and 13 years in the SNJM Development Office.

Sister Marion Patrick’s love of family was evidenced in her care and concern for them. She was loyal to friends and committed to the Marie Rose Guild, especially the Tuesday Group and their activities. She loved sports, by sight she could identify the make and model of cars and in the last couple of years an artistic side of her developed at Fatima with her clay creations.

She is survived by her sister Marie Wood, nieces and nephews Chris Wood, OP, Gary Wood, Brian Wood, Dennis Wood, Lindsay Wood , and Sharon Wood Urias and brother-in-law Daniel O’Neill, nieces and nephews Lawrence O’Neill, Rita O’Neill, Louise O’Neill, and Timothy O’Neill.

Gifts in her memory may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Names, P.O. Box 907, Los Gatos, CA 95031 or on-line at www.snjmca.org.
